Many thanks for the feedback on printer alternatives - it looks as if my
HP has quieted down again now the office temperature (32?C) and extreme
humidity have fallen - we just had an almost 4-week heatwave here. I
reckon the humidity cause the bugs rather than the temperature. Even the
paper felt a bit soggy at times.
