Mark and others buying software -- just a quick note on
student-priced software. I teach photography and Photoshop here
through College of the Redwoods, mostly just non-credit short-term
classes. Any students with a class receipt can buy the student
versions of software. The classes run about $75, and students can
save much more than that on just the Photoshop software alone. An
online store makes the student verification easy: www.academicsuperstore.com

There are probably other stores online, but I have followed this one
and bought special sales on Windows 7 Pro upgrade for $50 and Windows
Office 2010 Professional for less than $100. The student/teacher
versions are no different than standard version, except you cannot
upgrade them to the next version. But the new cost is about the same
as an upgrade.

So go learn something and save some money!
