Does your 50mm f2.8 Elmar-M (new) focus down to 0.7 m?

Mine has a ring that is above the cam, at the 0.7m closest distance, and 
prevents the body cam from getting that close.

I think a half-an-hour with a jewel file will fix the problem, but 
intrigued that the problem exists at all.
