And it all depends on the ultimate purpose of the image. And also true (re: missing grain) that, while the grainy skies remind me of why I loved large format landscapes on film, the grain on many film shooters posts remind me of why I loved 35 mm tri-x. ;~) I must say that the current state of digital imaging really does provide an extreme degree of flexibility in how one wishes the final image to appear in print through post processing; while in the film days most of the decisions had to be made at the point of choosing format and film and processing.
