I was beginning to despair! Then early in the hot afternoon as we circled the waterhole in zone 3 - the driver shouted "Tiger Tiger!!" and floored the accelerator - "Hang on!". We were the only jeep on the road and we peeled around the corner to the edge of the waterhole and slid to a stop in front of Tiger - 17, Patti Vale, "the collared one". The next hour was magic - the tiger walked - ignoring us - and we drove ahead of her - taking one series of pictures after another. Only after she walked away from the waterhole, through the grass and across a field did two other jeeps and two canters join us. My first tiger sighting was a special moment - like seeing Orca whales swimming close and free for the first time. It is a moment I will never forget, and the intimacy of it being just us and T 17 made it even more special. Here are the first photos in their own folder. None are cropped. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Howard+Cummer/Tigers/T17-1.jpg.html Please enjoy, C&C always welcome. Cheers Howard PS: There will be a hiatus in the Tiger story for the next two days while I go off to the Hong Kong Rugby 7's truly one of the world's greatest sporting events.
