Walker Evans in New Orleans?  For Mardi Gras?

Well, yes.  And no.

Both the man and the city have been on my mind.  Evans because I spent the 
afternoon talking with the students in my photo history class about him and 
New Orleans because today is Mardi Gras, as Chris' and Sonny's photos are 
reminding us.

So, what the heck.  Walker Evans in New Orleans, photos, 1935-1936:
