 In the Military, Police, and Civilian Contractor world there's a real, 
though small, but nonetheless not insignificant number of people who need to 
carry a camera and a firearm and need for them to be both secure and rapidly 
deployable. 

that said, at the Photo Expo I saw the "spider" system which is another 
holstered camera system using a knob and funnel/groove which looked a lot 
easier
