They are used to those specs. If they want black and white the go through the wonderful conversion processs but in the raw filters or later in in Photoshop perhaps Lightroom. Making it unnecessary to use filters on your lens and carry a bunch of them. How to get then back to using manual focus rangefinders again is it possible? How to get them back to using their Leicas again. maybe they still have some of their glass? I think the M9 as is might do it but it might not quite do it. They need bigger pixel sites they don't need 19 Megapixels all then need is what they're all ready used to getting with their DSLR's. 12 Megapixels and the ability to shoot 6 figure ISO's. So a slight tweak on the M9 and they'd get that. An M9s. One made not for commercial photographers but street shooting photo journalist types. As those are the traditional client base for Leica M rangefinder cameras. Not commercial photographers so much. Lets not expect them to start shooting as way lower ISO's than they're already used to they're already giving up their Auto focus. I think the color side to side issue might resolve itself without so many overly small pixel sites crammed in their now like they have it now at 18 mps. 12mps would give them room to breath. Its the standard now. And overkill really. I bet a prototype of very similar M camera is already in use in the back rooms in Solms. And slated for release. And could sell maybe for 6 grand instead of 7? Take some of the "bite" off. I'd wait another 2 years for a black and white version of that camera. As they'll be able to justify the loss having made so much money making the M9s. [Rabs] Mark William Rabiner
