Napoleon's demise was a much a diplomatic failure as a military failure and
arises more as a result of Talleyrand's betrayal then Metternich's
implacable opposition and scheming. Talleyrand is considered by many as one
of the people most responsible for what is now known as World War I (the
first Europeon Civil War of the 20th century).

Napoleon's description of Talleyrand as 'shit in silk stockings' was right
on the mark.
