avatar made me vomit.

literally, we were late and the kids and I grabbed contiguous seats in 
the front row.  the front row of an imax 3D showing.  and i get vertigo 
watching my son play video games on the PS3.  woof!

i don't know if it was entirely the emetic conditions of the viewing, 
but i ultimately preferred this year's similarly-themed south african 
"District 9."

and speaking about sci-fi and 2010, i just watched 2010 (1984) on 
Blu-Ray.  good movie, and a sobering reminder of the limitations of our 
technology as contrasted with our imaginings of only 26 years ago.
