[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]One trick that sometimes works is wide elastic bands.. one around the filter, the other around the lens..... grab the bands and twist them ( not grabbing the filter nor lens directly, but allow the rubber band to do the turning....) There is a special wrench made that I have had success with..... consists of a handle of aluminum and a strap of some vinyl like material. You wrap the strap around the filter, another wrenches' strap around the body, and twist. This has worked for me in the past... Called a Strap Wrench.... I remember getting the wrenches from..... Micro Tools (?) .... these wrenches are specifically made for this purpose, so no damage to the lens or filter, and I remember a pair costing me about $15 Here is an example ( though not the right size nor gentleness)..... from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Klein-S-12H-12-Inch-Wrench-Capacity/dp/B0000DINCH But, to be honest, since it is a simple repair, I would figure it is as cheap to have it done than to buy a tool to try to do it yourself.....
