Several years ago for about the cost of a new Leica and lens I bought some
shares of Leica AG, perhaps as a sign of support for the Company. I bought
some more after meeting and chatting with Andreas Kaufmann in autumn 2006 at
the LHSA annual meeting in Wetzlar and being persuaded that he was indeed
turning the Company. When the World Depression hit in autumn 2008 Leica
Camera's share price fell to a low of Euro/2.60 and suicide beckoned. Then
came the M9 on 09/09/09 at 0900. While the share volume is rarely above
three figures, i.e. a few hundred shares, the price has been rising steadily
and Friday was at 7 Euros. If it keeps going it might just finance me a new
M9. Keep buying, friends. ;-)
