I showed these to my wife, because her grandfather owned a 1930 Auburn Roadster. She can recall riding with him and holding the steering wheel while he lit his pipe. He used it to pull a trailer which contained living quarters and a direct-positive photo studio, and they worked fairs from Wisconsin to Mississippi during the 1930s. At that time it stopped for oil more frequently than for gasoline.
