The burning electrics smell might be from finger oil on the bulbs. Try not to handle them with bare hands. It also might just be some migrating machine oil. If the machine has been sitting up for a while, there's no telling. Just start it up and keep an eye on it. Make sure the fan is blowing good, and no oil on the reflectors. It has been a long time since I messed with multi-projector shows, the last were for the 1984 World's Fair in New Orleans, so I'm stretching here.
