I kept coaching them to keep the rigging taut; and keep the two lines far apart (he was holding them together); and adjust rigging toward nose for "little" wind. and hold the kite properly to catch the breeze; and run "into" the breeze. You can see she's holding the kite backwards with the rigging slack in the color photo. As they applied more and more of my advice they gained ever more success. But, in the end, they'd simply exhausted themselves with lack of experience. I was afraid the fellow would run off the edge of the bluff.
