I think it was in the works all the time, since the start of R&D on the M8.

I wonder, maybe they even have brought it out early.  How often are you 
going to get "Sept 9, 2009" to announce the "M-9"?

Like China opening the 2008 Olympics, Aug 8, 2008.  Probably at 08:08 
local time.
