I have had a Mac since 1985 and have never needed a technician.
Having said that my machine is probably self destructing as I type this on 
my work Windows machine, which actually has never worked satisfactorily IMO 
despite the ministrations of a 48 strong IT dept....

Likewise... I suppose there's a Mac technician within the Sacramento area,
but in the last dozen years or so I haven't needed his/her services.
