It is aimed at a portion of the market that now buys or leases Hasselblad, for example. As the sensor does not have the anti aliasing function, Leica considers that its image quality will be competitive with 50MP designs. As far as I know, there are no publicly available files from production models yet. Let's see what it actually does when it gets into service. No point pining for the R10 as we all now know. As for a 24x36 sensor M9, if and when it arrives,? I think you might have to save a little longer.
