Sadly no-one asked poor Laika/Leica if he wanted to volunteer for the one
way mission.

Ground control to Laika Dog, ground control to Laika Dog
Stopping peeing on the instruments and put your daiper on
Ground control to Laika Dog : Commencing countdown engine's on
Check ig-nition and may God's love be with you

This is ground control to Laika Dog, you've really made the grade!
And the papers want to know whose flea collar you wear,
Now it's time to leave the kennel if you dare

This is Laika Dog to ground con-trol, I'm stepping through the doggie door
And I'm barking in the most peculiar way
And the lamp posts look very difeerent today

...
Ground control to Laika Dog :
Your circuit's dead, there's something wong.
Can you hear me Laika Dog ?
Can you hear me Laika Dog ?
Can you hear me Laika Dog ? Can you ...

If I make it back I've got a very special aurprise for the mission control
rug.
