I can't imagine
that the "most direct competition"
of a digital range finder camera
can be a film range finder camera.

I'd think
the Epson RD1
the "most direct competition"
to the M8 or M8.2

We can certainly compare components:
shutters, range finders, size, etc.

However, in the end,
the digital M8 or M8.2
is quite a different machine
than any Leica which has come before it.

just another opinion.
