As a long time PhotoShop user
(since its original release in '88
right along with Illustrator '88)

I can assure you that
Silver Efex Pro
would more accurately be called
a very well thought out and useful addition
to either PhotoShop or Lightroom
than "ridiculous toys."

If you're planning on doing
a lot of black and white conversion
of digital image files;

and you seek the most time efficient
means of achieving and comparing
numerous effects.
