I replied, with tears, "there's nothing to be sorry about." He said, "yes there is." But wouldn't explain. (apparently just wanted to apologize) Never figured out what that may have been about. Ted sure stimulated the memories; my brain's filing cabinets all opened up; 16 and 8 mm film cans, 35 and 120 contact sheets, and yellowing tear sheets all laying around the mind's interpretation of history.
