Of the three, the Eugene Richards workshop at Look3 was best, Maine - as far as being instructive - was next, and Santa Fe was still very, very good. I learned enough and made enough contacts in all three to more than pay for the tuition, room and board. The Leica seminars are lots of fun. You get to borrow all of the Leica equipment that you think you might ever want and you may even learn something. They aren't workshops in the sense of the other three, but they are seminars with different lectures by different working photographers. It's in a fantastic place where you can shoot your brains out and there's lots of good food and drink. I'm not sure you can get an M8 for $1500, but come to the Leica Seminar and you might win a pair of Leica binoculars that's worth over $1500 or a fantastic camera bag that retails for over $300 - just two prizes that my amateur husband has won over the years (and never lets me forget!!) You can learn only so much on your own but comparing your work shot over several days with that of the others in the same seminar and hearing Ted's wonderful and constructive critiques of each photo is invaluable.
