Richard,

$6 a roll doesn't include processing or scanning.

Many, many wonderful reasons exist to expose, develop and enlarge or
scan film.
Cost (in terms of $'s and time) per frame is not one of them; for
serious shooters.

Roughly speaking film and processing costs $15 (not including time) for:
1 - 8x10 in
2 - 5x7 in
4 - 4x5 in
10 - 6x7 cm
12 - 6x6 cm
36 - 24 x 36 mm

4,000 frames per year = average 11 frames per day (which is not much
shooting - just ask Tina)
so your 6x7 replacement sensors will cost you $5475 not including
camera or lenses.

;~)
