Subject: [Leica] Don's PAW week 14 a little late

Interesting weeks behind me and ahead. I have been trying to understand one
of the subcultures in America and so have spent a fair amount of time in gun
stores the past few months. The folks have been somewhat reticent about
images so what I have is only a pale representation of what goes on.
With the various BATF rulings and changes in what paperwork is required and
seizures of stores that failed to follow the rules most owners are most
reluctant to appear on CMOS. More work to gain their trust.

Anyway, first we have a stack of MRE's. This is what is left after the shop
keeper brought in a pallet the prior day. It appears that a lot of people
are laying in stores for a Katrina level disaster.

Second is a rack of "Black Rifles" at a store in a predominately Asian part
of Atlanta. This shopkeeper has worked very hard to have a variety of ALR
available. He also has a couple of Duece and a Quarter's available as well.

Last in this series is a customer trying out a Mossberg 12 gauge for home
defence.

Every society is full of subcultures that are very hard to understand unless
you leave your culture behind for a while and try to see the other cultures
underlying assumptions.
