"The white Leica was designed at the specific request of the US Army  
10th Mountain Division. The conventional black or chrome cameras made  
too conspicuous a target for winter operations. Photographically  
inclined surgeons find that the white finish suits the decor of most  
operating rooms but offer the caution that instrument sterilization  
procedures turn it into a disposable camera. Given the level of  
current hospital charges, that should be no handicap."
