Go with the Epson. 6 MB is plenty for a photo class and also for most  
newspaper work. Frame tight;ly so that you don't have to sacrifice  
much image space. It's a good lesson to learn anyway. Then when you  
become a rich and famous photographer, spring for a Leica M9. Keep  
your fine lenses. They don't become obsolete.
