I remember one in particular, that I have now apparently lost or lent, same thing, of an ER team trying to save the life of some gang member who had been shot or stabbed. Or Eugene Smith's essay on mercury poisoning. I doubt seriously that Kyle's book was intended to be chilling. I think it was just a fine essay on a segment of life that many people never see, or would be able to see if they wished.
