That's how I feel about the GS645S. You can always turn off the automation on a GA645 (I shoot in manual focus 95% of the time), but you can't turn off the "clunky" and bulkiness in a fixed-lens Fuji rangefinder camera after the GL690. I'm pretty sure the only reason anyone buys Fujis is for the lenses; I'd rather be stuck with the body that has dead-accurate metering and shutter operation, dead-consistent frame spacing (good for batch scanning), a viewfinder that shows shutter speed and aperture, easier loading, aperture-priority and (gasp) program, the capability to be used by people who aren't photographers, and a small fill flash onboard. I've owned and used every iteration of Fuji rangefinder and autofocus 645 made, and the GA645 is the best of them.
