Used it this way for a couple of years without any problems. I used Leica R lenses for 99% of the time. The -ve compensation prevented the highlights from blowing. As mentioned earlier the only problem is that some lenses don't have enough clearance for the mirror. I used 28/35mm Elmarits, 50mm Summicron, 189/250 lenses. Focus wide open, then stop down soon becomes second nature. I used a Brightscreen focussing screen to help focussing.
