It works for the sports guys and the birders because they traditionally shoot wide open. No big deal. It works horribly ( IMHO) for the average guy that wants to use his R lenses on his Nikon Digital thingie..... where stopping down is more necessary. I have often thought that it might be interesting to just shoot wide open as an exercise...... and then the cross-"dressing" becomes more liveable..... Until you run out of shutter speeds...... Let's try this...... Wide open lens at F2.8. ASA 100 ( do digicams go that low?).... corresponds to 1/4000 in Sunny 16 language..... You could use a ND filter......
