It hit right at sunset, with a little rain and 40-60 mph winds. Got this bizarre look in my front yard. Ran in after the trees started tossing objects at us. <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/ricc/PAW2009/01-rainbow.jpg.html> http://tinyurl.com/8rmol2 Weathered wood shot <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/ricc/PAW2009/01-treebar.jpg.html> http://tinyurl.com/9bea5n The baggage car on the outbound Amtrak <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/ricc/PAW2009/01-amtrak.jpg.html> http://tinyurl.com/7nrcjg A Leica Z2X popped up on Craigslist a couple of weeks ago. I didn't know anything about them, but for $25, I figured I'd grab myself a Christmas toy. When I got it, I could not help but think, "Sure feels more like a cheep point & shoot than a Leica." Its finish is a little battered. But, I loaded it up anyway to test it. I have to admit some guilty pleasure -- I really enjoyed shooting with it. It's auto-everything, so composition was about the only thinking to be done, zooming the 35-70 Vario-Elmar. I did have to cut the flash off to keep from attracting attention. Otherwise--what's to do? Results were better than I would expect based on the looks of the camera. I was pretty happy. The rest are from the Z2X: Ruins of Imperial Tobacco warehouse in Greenville, NC. <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/ricc/PAW2009/01-imperial1.jpg.html> http://tinyurl.com/8vcunx <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/ricc/PAW2009/01-imperial2.jpg.html> http://tinyurl.com/92c7ll <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/ricc/PAW2009/01-imperial3.jpg.html> http://tinyurl.com/7joe8w A cat in a shop window in Greenville. <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/ricc/PAW2009/01-cat.jpg.html> http://tinyurl.com/7t837z My Week 1 is January 4-10.
