you're probably correct
I really don't disagree.

My fixation probably
comes from growing up with:
Ansel Adams books,
8x10 view cameras;
and in a commercial studio
where each set up
was exposed with brackets
of one on, 1/3 stop over, and 1/3 stop under;
and the highlights and shadows
were metered
until the precise relative values
were achieved.

Yes. It can get in the way of "soul."
Many find Ansel's work "cold"
I find his technical mastery
the "soul" of his work;
when seen in original print form.
