In the last two years we have traveled with small groups of photographers to Guatemala. There, participants worked on a wide range of photo projects for 8-10 days. Typically photographers spend their days (and sometimes nights) shooting their projects, followed by evening critiques and customized, individual support and mentoring. . The daily shooting/critique cycle is a great intensive laboratory to fine tune vision and story telling skills over a short period of time. Photographers have broken through visual barriers and cut new turf for their personal vision. All accommodations and ground arrangements (transfers from the airport, hotel, some ground transportation and two dinners) are handled, all you need to do is get to Guatemala City with your digital camera, a laptop and a toothbrush (an M8 was perfect for me last year.) We opened registration late last week and already have photographers signed up, the total number will be limited this year and I believe there are many here who would benefit from this trip. There are no other workshops even close to what this offers. To view video of participant experiences, click here http://www.visualreportage.blogspot.com/ Who should join us? If you are passionate about photography & want to learn through practice, come. If you want to receive daily encouragement and support on how to improve your skills, come. If you have been uncertain about how your photography can improve, this is the perfect setting, since everyone is here to learn from each other. If you want to experience what it is like to combine photography with making difference in the world, come. If you are a professional photographer and feel in a rut, come and find your own unique out-of-the-box perspective. We all have it, we just need a little encouragement and guidance to take risks. You should come too. If you want a taste of living like a professional photographer, come. If you want to expand your idea of the world, come and learn your connection to humanity through Guatemala & her people. Who this workshop is NOT for? If you feel you know everything there is to know about photography, don?t come. If you are not willing to be out of your comfort zone for 10 days, then we suggest you don?t come. If you are comfortable with the status-quo of your photography, don?t come.
