Pray, sir, don't play the ass.  I never stated 
that Collins spent no time in Wicklow:  he 
clearly did pass through it on his multiple trips 
between Dublin and Cork, as the rail lines ran 
through it.  I merely said that Wicklow played no 
special role in Collins' career.

Yes, locals in pubs spin many a tall tale and I 
am surprised that you would find this 
unusual.  Come visit me in Richmond, Virginia, 
and I'll take you around to some of our bars and 
you can hear all sorts of utterly false 
balderdash about the City during, say, the US 
Civil War.  I certainly have encountered similar 
"counter-factual" history accounts in New 
England, Pennsylvania, and California.

I suspect that your leg was pulled and that it came right off in their hands.
