IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED AND I DIDN'T SCREW - UP! :-) I don't think? :-) Going on stage I was as nervous as all get out! But calmed down once things began to happen. A major difference between giving a lecture and being the subject!! The auditorium was packed with parents and friends of graduating students, so lots and lots of folks. Add my friends from the Victoria area along with folks from the mainland and all this added to a nervous condition. :-) If you want to experience a weird feeling, it's being plain "Ted, a photojournalist one minute." And short time later everyone calling you Dr. Grant or Dr. Ted? I think I'll be very happy to be ted! Given my grandsons have always called me "G pa." The older of the two has changed it to "Dr. G pa." During the past several days I've read, re-read and re-re-read my speech and for each of the re-reads I've said them from memory to the point my memory banks are almost blown to oblivion! :-) We attended a small luncheon, were driven home and will be picked-up for an evening reception. Those things are easy to handle anytime, shooting or enjoying. 1/ The pressure is off!!!!! :-) 2/ I didn't cry, but there were a number of calming deep breathing moments! :-) 3/ An amazing life experience if ever there was one! 4/ I just wished my Mom and Dad were still around to be there as they'd have been so happy. My Ma would've said.. "My son the photographer finally made it!" :-) 5/ Lot's of photos taken, I expect to see some shortly as Tom & Tuulikki Abrahamson were there along with Henning & Tanya Wulff all shooting away. Plus the official Uvic photog. One of the grandson's and what seemed like an almost paparazzi kind of shooting! 6/ So there you go eh? :-) Now I can relax, well I'm going to have a nap. ;-) ted
