Doug Herr offered:

>>Another hazard was the machine-gunning gear-talking Canonographer who
boasted of wading into the stream on the previous day (disrupting &
trampling redds, and filling the water with silt) in order to get photos of
the Black Bear eating salmon.<<<<<<<<

Hi Doug,

If this person were to even put his toe in the water here, a Park Warden
would have him under arrest for disturbing the fish. And he'd have a large
fine and probably loss of gear for doing so.

When school classes are brought for an outing to see Mother Nature and her
fish doing their thing, the kids must be quiet, no stone throwing and
certainly no splashing of the water. They are always escorted by a Park
Naturalist who's explaining what is going on as the kids with their art
paper books are making sketches and listening intently.

But this "so called photographer" stomping in the water moron should have
his gear confiscated, heavily fined and if he's working for a news outlet
they should be fined as well.

Given the federal government National Fish reports in your country USA and
Canada on returning salmon to spawn along the west coast of North America
the numbers are dwindling at an alarming rate. And if it keeps up, it's
possible the west coast fishing industry will go like the east coast and
disappear due to no fish.

So when this fool goes stomping through the water he is without question
destroying the eggs, but helping to destroy the numbers of fish to return in
4 years to spawn. And putting commercial fishermen out of work. In some
cases taking food off the table of indigenous people who rely on the fish
for their yearly food.

I expect he was damn lucky someone of the fishing authority department
didn't just smack him down with a fine and loss of gear!

Just another example of a moron with a camera who knows nothing about Mother
Nature and wild life.

Be great to grab him, remove his gear, throw it in the creek while he
watches! Then hold his head under water while the fish are banging against
his face until he nearly stops kicking. Then bring him up for air and a
stern lecture about disturbing wild life!

Now that would be a great series of pictures with the fish as background!
:-) I know I'm a mean assed SOB ! :-) :-)

But it's photographers, well "camera manipulators" of this sort who give all
of us a bad name, so giving one a good thrashing does no harm!
