Yeah, I know, but this is my last one, and he's such a talent.  Most people
don't think of the bass past keeping time or backing up, but the guy can
persuade sweet music from his instrument.

I didn't teach him about classical music, he taught me.  I didn't like blues
until I heard him play it at the Tin house.  I'm President of his fan club,
not because he's my son, but because I'm in on the ground floor hearing a
great musician.  He has promised I can take care of the groupies when he
tours. ;-)
