I had an absolute dickens of a time getting it to work properly after I found it and plugged it in again. After a very long troubleshooting quest, I finally found the problem, and I'm reporting it so that others might benefit. Somehow, either by sitting in a box for 4 months or by something that I did wrong, all of my stored paper profiles were lost, except for their names. So when I told the printer to use Profile #1, Crane Museo Silver Rag, it said "fine", but the contents of that profile were the default settings. I rebuilt all of my paper profiles and re-saved them, and it all works fine now. If you are having print-quality issues with your 3800, look inside the store paper profiles to make sure that they are what you think they are. Brian Reid
