Subject: [Leica] How to get an M8 for $3200...

There is a basic assumption here... that the "chip" or sensor is the
ultimate determiner of the output quality.

I think that it is a combination of sensor + follow up electronics... the
digital processor .. that is the culprit that makes one solution "better" or
"worse" than another....

IOW, the same sensor, surrounded by different digital processing algorithms
can give different output results..... Of course, as a user, it is hard to
separate the 2....or compare 2.

 A legal place for hacks!

No thank you on the 5D cmos chip in an M.
Much prefer the quality of the smaller Kodak ccd.
Full frame would be wonderful but not with a Canon cmos.
My 5D image files can not come close to the M8 image files in terms
of fine detail, color and shadow detail.

Fond regards,
George
