For the first time since quite long, the Netherlands were not specially mentioned before the tournament as as one of the main favourites - what took a lot of pressure off them. But now, the pressure is here again. After beating both the last world cup finalists with 3 goals advance, they're the top favourite now, "l'equipe a battre". Another concern - they're too good too early in the tournament. It never happens that a team plays 6 or 7 brilliant games in a row. Following my memories since the 1970 world cup, the winner was always a team that was able to grow up from game to game - with Holland there's not much space left for further improving, and a failure gets more and more possible from game to game. I sincerely hope for them, that they'll pull their "bad" game in thext, unimportant, group match against Romania, before the K.O. rounds begin. Nevertheless they have the players and the spirit to win the tournament; logically, this morning I had to buy an oranje shirt for my wife :-) ... Btw I was at ITA-ROM yesterday evening, some pics later.
