Any antique fan collectors here? Yeah, I know it's the LUG, but we all
have our other items of working antiquity.
In this awful heat I just cleaned up an old Cold Wave 10" desk fan. No
oscillator power-take-off, but it's still a decent unit. Not sure of
the vintage. I'm surprised at the amount of air that this little fan
puts out! As I can't see the blades spin I'm a bit afraid of getting a
finger lopped off while reaching across my desk, not paying attention
to the wire guard. Like a desktop food processor, it is.
Questions I have are: does anyone know how to get it a bit quieter?
Possibly new bushings? Also it feels like it is getting quite warm and
I don't want to risk damage to the unit or worse. How can I get this
fan to run cooler as well?
Apologies for the OT post.
Thanks in advance for your knowledge.
