Vick,

That is not particularly hot. Since Venice is on the water, it never  
gets really hot like the places inland.

As for Leica shopping, every time I have checked prices in Italy  
(admittedly, not recently) I have found them to be much higher than  
in, say, Germany. Plus the exchange rate will likely make anything  
you see horribly expensive for you.
