Hulot>>(?), yes I first saw it in the late 60s, by which time it was already old (Wikipedia tells me 1953). There were other things happening in France then...of which it is of course the fortieth anniversary now. For listers who don't know him, Tati was a sort of Mr. Bean, I think that Rowan Atkinson admits that he was his inspiration. But underneath the slaptick there was a certain amount of social and political commentary. Tati got nominated for the Oscar for best screenplay for it.
