Subject: [Leica] Close-focusing with M's

My 75 seems fine with the M8 at close focus: better at close than further
out it seems ;-)

Tina,

For close focusing and magnification, without goggles, the 90mm macro-
Elmar is the best. It focuses to .77M and gives a 1:6.7 photo. If you
compare this to the 90mm summicron which focuses to only 1M and gives
a 1:9 photo.

Second best I would say is the 75mm Summicron. Focus to .7M and gives
1:7 magnification. I would not use the 75mm Summilux close up with an
M8 because of the back focus issues with this lens.

I shoot about 75 flower photos per month with the 90 macro and mostly
without goggles.

Len
