I use my Summitar without a filter, mostly outdoors. If I really  
needed the cut filter in the conical mount I would take the glass out  
of a common Summitar filter and replace it with the glass from a 39mm  
filter. It might need to be ground to a slightly smaller diameter but  
I'm sure somebody could do it.
