Forgetting all the TE, but focusing on the WATE.....

You are saying that there are useful FL between the established click stops?
That is pretty fascinating......

In any case, it's not a zoom. There is nothing useable between the 50 
and 28 setting; or, for that matter between 50 and 35. I have one 
(and a WATE) and the TE is not a zoom. The WATE is.
