Subject: [Leica] Any one still using their darkrooms

Hi Marty,
Geoff and I were considering an Aussie LUG fest at some time, and when you
are set up, I'd love to see your darkroom in action. I really enjoyed last
weekend and the prints have a very nice "ring" to them. I still resist fibre
in general, but I agree they do have a lovely sheen.

Cheers

I'm going to be setting one up in the next few weeks. We just bought a
house here in Adelaide with a spare room behind the garage, currently slated
to become the darkroom. It has a rainwater tank too, so I won't be wasting
appalling amounts of water on washing (wash water will be collected and
re-used on the garden). Much of Southern Australia is currently very, very
dry, despite floods in the North-East.

I agree with comments on the quality, art and general object-worship that a
good fibre-base print engenders.

Marty

Most people can only judge of things by the experiences of ordinary life,
but phenomena outside the scope of this are really quite numerous.
