Speaking of Tales from Yesteryear -
Given how many folks here are 'of a certain age,' ;-), I highly, highly,
highly recommend "The Life and Times of The Thunderbolt Kid," by Bill
Bryson - Amazon has it in paper. I'm almost finished reading it now and can
say without hesitation that it is spew macaroni-out-your-nose,
scream-out-loud, drive-off-the-road-if-someone's-reading-it-to-you funny. It
a memoir of growing up in Iowa in the 50s, and having grown up in the 50's -
though not in Iowa - I have to say it is note perfect. Don't miss it!
