Sometimes I represent both camps, sometimes I am only in the first
camp......

Stop being cheap.  All the right reasons were already listed by Brian......
Get the Nikon charger...

BTW, there are 3 things that happen to batteries that are charged wrong...
1) they die.
2) they leak
3) they (literally) blow up.

Which one would you like to see happen?
